BET Brings the Fashion Sense with “Rip The Runway”

Rip The Runway Hosts Nicki "Mz. Barbie" Minaj and Pooch Hall gettin' it in!
Pooch Hall of BET’s “The Game” and Nicki Minaj are hosting a new show that BET has in mind for the fashionistas out there. Not only will it be a fashion show, Rip the Runway is to be hosted at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan and will host performances by today’s stars such as Roscoe Dash, Soulja Boy, Trina, Janelle Monae, and Ludacris. Other hosts include Dwight Eubanks and Misa Hylton.
What’s cool about this show is its emphasis on urban couture, and at the same time being fashion forward. BET even left us with some tips for men and women for this spring which is officially right around the corner! I’ll post three for the fellas and the sistas.
For him
Show them you’re open to fashion and add a bright white piece to your wardrobe. This spring, kill the “all black everything” trend; wear white for spring. Besides, wearing black will make you too hot!

Return of the God 2 dryin’ tee $17.99 (from $28.00)
Spring Knit
It’s almost time to put away the bulky sweaters and replace them with lightweight breathable knits. That means say hello to the V-necks!

Grass Roots two V-neck tee by LRG $19.99 (from $28.00)
Retro High-Tops
Mix a retro-style high-top in with the athletic shoes for a touch of urban swag. Go Coogi! These are sexified…

For her
Girly Whites (or pink)
A must-have and a “can’t go wrong” for spring.
Aim for soft and lightweight and you can’t go wrong! Don’t be afraid to embrace the pink though.

Dereon ruffle front plaid woven top $24.99 (from $59.00)
Tribal Print
Cultural inspirations can be everywhere this year and fashion is no exception.
Diversify your closet! This can be one of the most fun ways to do that:) Ed Hardy excels at this with the Indian Head Dress tank ($68.99, from $79.00)

Ruffles
Celebrate your femininity with lace!
Trust me, guys like lace, and you did anyway before you read this, so it’s a win-win!
