Italians; christmas eve is a bigger event; fish and/or pasta; no meat ; same for portuguese ; I also have heard of the tradition of find the pickle; glass pickle ornament is hidden in the christmas tree; first person to find the pickle gets an extra gift; in the older days , Santa was the one who put up the christmas tree on christmas eve along with the gifts so when the children got up they saw the tree all lit up for the first time with the gifts; wow Santa must have had a busy night then ; Merry Christmas.
