| | What Happened 2 Man Alive Stores?
In recent months Man Alive has drastically changed their merchandise from less urban to more rock style with basic t-shirts with skull and cross bones designs. They pushed all the urban wear to the back which is mainly for sale items. They had a little basic RW polos and some Akademiks and the rest was pretty wack. Store employees acted like it was nothing major when it is. They don't have to worry about me shopping there anymore. I went online and their website is under construction. I guess they are switching to more street wear cheap t-shirt looking stuff. Ugh!

T-shirts with skulls and cross bones themes are played if you asked me so if that is what is referred as to street wear they can have it and lose my business at the same time. I feel like they sold out the urban community. Needless to say, they are not getting any business and I won't be suprised if they close down. I'll check out the store in Detroit and see if the merchandise fell off or if it was just for the store i went to.

due to the recession.....probably so. Last thing I bought from Man Alive was a whole bunch of RW thermals that were on sale for the low low and that was around Christmas time. They switched over shortly after.

yeah i went in there not too long ago by force and its nothing like it used to be.
Not feeling the skulls and crap, but i wasn't feeling the urban wear either.
If you ask me anyone over the age of 18 wearing logos and labels ( baby phat, rocawear, etc.) plastered all over them in '09 is laate. A lot of ppl, have switched styles and don't wear that stuff anymore so that's probably why they changed.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and the only pieces out my wardrobe that don't have a logo or label are my plain GAP t's and khakis. I wear what flatters my shape and compliments my style (especially jeans) and that does not make me "late" just makes me in touch with my personal style. When I do wear something basic/classic its paired with a designer bag and shoes so its still labels and logos either way I go. :-)
I don't see MA's sells increasing after this switch over because there are already the Hot Topics, Sun Pac and similar stores that cater to this audience. Time will tell.

Time will tell. | I embrace ppl, who dress by their personal style not only caters to trends. In my opinions, most companies have their logos on their fashions, but their name brands logos are not extreme like "urban" brands.
I like some of companies who include their logos such as Coach, Dooney & Bourke, (some) Gucci, Chanel, Adidas, Puma, Ralph Lauren (preppy clothes), and Lacoste (preppy clothes). Their looks look classy to me and when you wear their stuff, you don't look like a walking billboard.
These only "urban" brands (excluding streetwear brands) that I like such as Akademiks, (some of) Members Only (nylon jackets), Sean John, Triple F.A.T Goose (coats), and Jeepney.

You cannot pull a name brand item that has visible name brand logos everywhere like a baby phat tee or akademiks logo jeans. A man cannot pull out and wear a certain item that was popular in the 90s with old FUBU or Kani Kani logos everywhere. That item become unless. & no, I'm not trying to be controversial.
