New Era Fitted Cap Company Collaborates With Urban Icons and Rap Artists

John ‘Fabolous’ Jackson, the undisputed jersey champion since his rapping debut in “Super woman”, has been putting the hip hop fashion and accessory trendwatchers on freeze mode with his unreleased jerseys and fitted caps. He’s done wonders for NBA sales, Mitchell & Ness jersey sales, and also the hype behind exclusive Nike sneaker sales. A trend setter far ahead of the crowd, Fabolous has mastered Urban and Hip Hop fashion swagger to make people notice his style.

On top of all he has already accomplished, it seems the king of Hip Hop’s sporty fashion trend is jumping into something that might keep fashionable heads turning once more. New Era hats has endorsed Fab and a few other celebrities to create limited edition fitted caps for hat wearers. While these designs are for the world, urban & Hip Hop culture will definitely partake in the wearing and matching of these hats, as the inspiration behind the cap’s designs will be inspired by urban culture.

Two other designers of the many celebrities planned are Spike Lee, the film aka “joint” director and DJ Bobbito Garcia, who is known for his sneaker collection.

Spike Lee, known for appearing in videos and movies with his Knicks jersey and fitted, is expected to possibly come with more creative designs than Fabolous himself. The man behind “Do The Right Thing” and “School Daze”, unknowingly to most, is the reason we have fashion fitteds from New Era.

Before Spike Lee, all fitted caps were strictly in line with what was worn by players on field. The hats, actually known as “on-field authetnics” were limited and not able to match all clothing worn by the masses who like to wear their favorite team’s logo cap. Wanting more colors to match what he wore, Spike Lee called New Era and asked for a cap in some other colors and New Era provided them. After Spike Lee’s call, history was made, and New Era expanded into a globally dominant fitted cap designer. Everyone loved the fact they could get a cap to match their multi-colored wardrobes.

Bobbito Garcia, worldly known DJ, is not fitting into the puzzle as much as the other two New Era hat designer choices, but we are sure anyone who’s been in hiphop as long as he has, knows something about street styles.

The only hats we’ve been able to get information on that have already been designed is the New York Yankees, Pin striped fitted by Fabolous. Besides matching to Jay-Z’s style of dress shirts it will also boast a diamond in the design for you hat freakers out there. This hat will be very limited and cost $75 or up. Urb1 expects the hat to be on E-bay for double the price of whatever it is released at as it is sure to show up in hiphop videos constantly, no matter how limited it is.
