april_12_kimora-lee_gets_tv_show_on_tv_the-style-network_01Ask Kimora Lee Simmons who she is and the answers will be varied. A mogul and a mother, demanding and compassionate, Baby Phat’s creative director and fabolous DV diva, she’s the epitome of positive success. Kimora Lee Simmons is a woman who takes charge of life and lives it to the fullest. She made “phat” a household word through her fashion house, Baby Phat, the multi-million dollar enterprise Simmons runs with the trademark style that inspires every aspect of her life.

Now, The Style Network is bringing that same Simmons energy to the small screen each week in a series that takes viewers into the compelling life of Kimora Lee Simmons — the CEO of global clothing brand Baby Phat, and mom to two precocious little girls. Kimora (working title) premieres this summer only on Style.

Professionally, Kimora Lee Simmons seems to have it all. Viewers will get a peek inside the hip-hop halls of Baby Phat, her sister company to Phat Farm that has taken on a very large life of its own. What started as simply a spin-off clothing line has, under the watchful eye of Ms. Simmons, exploded into a global brand that now includes cosmetics, fragrances, home goods, jewelry … even diamond-encrusted electronics.

Viewers are invited along for the ride as she leads her company to new heights of success, from product launches to press tours to high fashion events. It sounds exhausting, but this is only half of Kimora’s day.

Simmons puts her two daughters, seven-year-old Ming Lee and four-year-old Aoki Lee, above all else. Like everything she does, Kimora lives her private life in a very big way. We will become regular visitors to the family’s New Jersey estate, where life is often hectic for a woman who must balance her dedication to the girls with philanthropic and social commitments.

Like all great leading ladies, Simmons surrounds herself with a formidable professional staff, which includes publicists, managers, creative directors and fashion designers, as well as an extensive personal staff of nannies, chefs, drivers, stylists and hair/makeup artists. It’s a large group to handle, but Kimora Lee Simmons has no problem assuming leadership.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri to a Japanese mother and African American father, Kimora took the modeling industry by storm at age 13 when fashion czar Karl Lagerfeld handpicked her to model for Chanel in Paris.
