Russell Simmons Kimora Lee Launching New Phat Farm And Baby Phat Clothing Lines And Stores

Russell Simmons is proving Hip Hop has not been exploited nearly to it’s profit potential. The founder of Phat Fashions, which was sold in 2004, has been traveling the globe launching new flagship store locations for Two of the Hip Hop clothing industry’s most successful fashion labels.

Flagship stores for Baby Phat and Phat Farm have been opened in Dubai, Madrid, Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, Taipei, and Montreal. Already having a SoHo, New York store open, Simmons also announced he has signed licensing deals to open more than 29 stores in the United States.

Simmons has also been busy cross-promoting the Baby Phat and Phat Farm brands on tv shows and websites. The music mogul and Def Jam friends have been making sure they give proper logo placement and brief mentions of the Phat Fashion labels.

Global Grind, which is expected to be on GlobalGrind.com, will cross-promote Russell and ex-wife, Kimora’s jewelry, fragrance, and clothes. Kimora recently launched a fragrance named Fabulosity, the same as her book published last year.

Kimora will also be busy doing cross-promotions of the different Baby Phat fashion and accessory lines on her upcoming reality television series that will be on the Style Network.

Simmons is also continuing to build the Phat Fashions company, launching three new lines; XV, Atman, and the Russell Simmons collection. XV will be a casual line aimed at the Hip, yet older, more refined gentleman. Atman, an expensive line, will focus on such items as cashmere hoodies, silk embroidered fashions, and other normally euro-fashion inspired goods. The Russell Simmons collection is said to be a line of pinstripe suits with extreme style.

Kimora Lee recently launched the an upscale fashion range as well, the KLS collection. Details on the brand and the official store can be found at KLS.com. KLS lip gloss has already recieved rave reviews since it’s appearance in hit-rapper, Lil MaMa’s new video “My Lip Gloss is Poppin.”
