Sean "P.Diddy" Combs pulled much love from a fashion industry group that has left his name off their honors list for quite some time. The CFDA awards ceremoney, which is also known as the Council of Fashion Designers of America, named P.Diddy the top menswear designer of the year for his Sean John collection at it's annual awards show.

This award comes coincidentally, shortly after P.Diddy pulled Sean John from the "hiphop" fashion category and added it to the "pop" category. The changes in the designer styles Sean John present have also targeted a new crowds as a lot of P.Diddy's runway designs includes European-like fashions.

Being Combs' first win eventhough he's had four previous nominations, it was definately a day of celebration for him. Wearing a white tuxedo jacket Puff told the audience of current and aspiring designers, stylists, models, fashion editors, video directors, artists, and store owners that years ago he stood in the Ralph Lauren store "saving my pennies" for a new Polo shirt. "I am te living American dream."

Soon after, Puff shouted, "Ralph, you're still the sexiest male on the planet," acknowledging the famous, multi-brand owning, designer.

While Combs is shooting like a star across the fashion galaxy, beyond many's preference, the question is will he reach "high fashion" one day. Many think the potential is definitely there for Sean John to reach the climax of international clothing and fashions design. The epitome of success, Urban and Hip Hop enthusiasts across the world place support behind Combs, in hopes he shows the world that Hip hop culture is capable of conquering all feats.
