Rachel Roy Designs Grey Goose Vodka Cocktail Dresses

Designer Rachel Roy gave birth to her second daughter only three months ago and she is now back at work, collaborating with Grey ear. Goose Vodka by designing a cocktail dress that will be worn by the Vodka Brand’s models at various events. The dresses will be first shown at Roy’s presentation at New York Fashion Week on September 4.

Rachel Roy’s life and success are an example of a modern day American dream. She came to New York at young age and started as a stylist. She quickly gained recognition and joined Rocawear Clothing, co-founded by her husband, Damon Dash. She became creative director for the women’s and children’s division.

In 2005 Roy launched her elegant namesake collection; the Rachel Roy Collection. Only three years later, in May 2008, the designer sold a 50 percent stake in her business to Jones Apparel Group. She generated $100,000 in sales last year.

A name that will continue to be seen across the fashion industry, Roy may also help husband Damon Dash with an upscale collection that’s yet to be titled. Some speculation is driven towards the brand CEOS that Damon Dash previewed on BET reality show “Ultimate Hustler”, but nothing is certain. Granted Roy’s success in fashion since moving to New York City, she seems to be a sure fire candidate for Creative Direction.
