Set to retire by age 30, web entrepreneur Rodrick Rainey says he’s lived rebellious success and is paying homage to that in his Hip-Hop music single “Nike Head”. Only 24 years old, the South Carolina native says his song about wearing Nike sneakers isn’t just a song for him. Releasing music under the name C.Khid, he says his song embraces a movement that’s been long brewing on the left side of society. According to him, the new Hip-hop single ‘Nike Head’ is about how you don’t have to be everything the general public wants you to be to be successful.

“As long as I can remember when I was young, my mom said you going to have to wear some formal shoes one day,” says the young entrepreneur and artist. “I made this song summing up my life and how I made myself something without the complete support of Corporate America who wants you to act and react a certain way. Wearing sneakers (for me) represented my hustle and ability to be successful without conforming to the Plan A (typical) business lifestyle,” he continues.

A bit anti-social as he puts it, Rainey was born in Greenville, SC where he says conservative views ruled much and the hypocriticalness was too obvious for him. The young web star even grew up playing basketball at Springfield Park with NBA star Kevin Garnett, whom he says was a prime example of what motivates him.

“Kevin Garnett was a prodigy from the start. However, since he did not fit the preferred image of high school, they targeted him and tried to end his success. Thank God for more liberal places that promote success and not a certain group of people. The city I’m from promotes a small group of people that will try to kick you down on the way up, but shake your hand once you’re above them. So for me to retire by age 30 in a pair of Nike sneakers or adidas stan smiths motivate people like me… they will hate that,” continues Rainey.

Reaching #1 on the rating boards for digital download and play site SoundClick.com in the past, Rainey creates music independently under the name C.Khid. Releasing the “Nike Head” hip-hop music single in the past month, it’s already broke into the Top 75 singles out of over 100,000 songs listed.

In 4th Quarter 2008 a ‘Nike Head’ music video may be released independently by the SC artist via YouTube. Looking to virally spread his message about being independently successful, it will be an artistic creation that delivers his story to viewers.
