Kimora Lee Simmons Leaves Baby Phat
It is the end of an era. The most fabulous lady in celebrity clothing line decided to move on. EOnline reported that Kimora Lee Simmons is leaving her clothing line, Baby Phat and its parent company, Kellwood Company. The founder will officially leave her brand of 14 years as of September 1st.
Kimora released a statement regarding the matter:
“After 14 years of conceiving and nurturing Baby Phat, it’s time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses and create a new phenomenon. I adore all those who have faithfully been with me since the beginning.”
Kimora’s legacy in the Simmons clothing empire includes Baby Phat, KLS Collection, Kouture by Kimora and Fabulosity. Although she’s leaving, Kimora ensured her fans that she’s up for another venture, which will take inspiration from the next generation.
“I’m forever dedicated to my family, fans and customers. My inspiration has always come from the fabulous women who have been with me through the years as we’ve grown from young party girls to power players! We’re ready for our next journey together and we’re taking a whole new generation of incredible young women with us. Girl power unite!”
No need for negative speculations, only excitements for the future, because ex-husband/business partner, Russell Simmons helped ensure the brand’s fanatics that the duo will have a joint collaboration.

Kimora Lee Simmons has announced that she is severing ties with labels Baby Phat and Phat Fashions. The supermodel-turned-fashion mogul revealed to E! Online that after more than a decade, she has decided to leave the brands that she helped launch. Baby Phat has definitely changed over the years. After Kimora went blonde and started appearing in swimsuits for the line and launching her fragrance line it definitely took a turn in a different direction. I have not been a fan of this line in the last few years so hopefully she will come out with something different and cutting edge.
Its always good to try new ventures..I think thats a good move.. Baby Phat was at its peak. Time to plant new seeds an watch them grow!
I don't think that Baby Phat could be as Fabulous as before without Kimora but i'm definatelly excited about her new projects!!!!
Its heart breaking to that the Queen of Fabulousity is leaving us. I am really heart breaken and still in disbelieve about the whole thing.
