Rich Kids Club was founded and created by Philip Nicholas and started it’s operation in 2010 in the Los Angeles County. Today, Rich Kids Club is already located in Fashion Boutiques, Street Wear Boutiques and other retail establishments around the world. The brand’s philosophy is to provide high quality, cutting – edge and trendy sunglasses at a very aggressive price, with excellent customer service and in building a great relationship with its customers. SoJones.com talks to Philip Nicholas about Rich Kids Club.

Introduce yourself and describe how your brand was started?
My name is Philip Nicholas I am the founder and Creative Director for Rich Kids Club. I created Rich Kids Club because in the industry I am in we all wear fly clothes and at this time all the sunglasses that fit our taste are expensive, not everyone can afford all the high end brand names with shades selling for around $800. I wanted to create a company that is affordable but also quality made for everyone that has good taste in style, and cares about craftsmanship! your swag shouldn’t be limited because your pockets aren’t fully they’re yet! companies have done this for clothes but no one did it specifically for accessories such as sunglasses! “Welcome to the club!”

Even though we started as a Sunglass company, we are already expanding as a company and will be putting out much more than Sunglasses. We are putting together a lifestyle.

Rich Kids Club is a club like no other, c’mon were something like a country club. We are a group of individual’s who go for our goals and dreams, and looking good while accomplishing them. To join the rich kids club, you must follow several rules and stick to them. (1) Live life the way you want to. (2) Follow your dreams. Every season and collection of our shades is for the individual who has style! In your face attitude worn by people of all ages who follow their dreams in style! Flat Top Wayfarers are on my Top List. Our Best Selling Shade are our Prestige, Billionaire & Moncier.

Any product placements on celebs to keep an eye out for (examples: publicity photos, magazines, movies, music videos etc)
We Have hosted several VIP events in Hollywood where our guests can party and pick up some shades. Including Benny Boom (Music Video Director) birthday party @ Haute, and many events at Standard Hotel in Hollywood.
Every one that is apart of the club, has great taste!!

What has been a surprise fashion hit over the last year? (a particular piece, a look or even another brand)
A fashion surprise for me is the scoop necks, they go lower than the v-necks and a lot of celebrities are starting to pick up on this style. They are real comfortable and relaxing, but quite feminine. I’ll skip on that one, not for me

What current fashion trend would you like to see thrown overboard?
Shirts with girls plastered on the front! Thats like the hip-hop ed hardy, and no diss but ask the streets what they think about Ed-Hardy! If you are pullin females you dont need a shirt to say that for you!

What is/was one of your most prized fashion pieces, past or present?
My gucci Shoe collection, I must say I am a big fan of Gucci, Zara and L-R-G!!
