Up And Coming Fashion Mogul: Skater Terry “TK” Kennedy

Skater Terry "TK" Kennedy
Skateboard star Terry Kennedy just opened his District-8 shop in Long Beach and also launched his new Supra shoes on Sunday, May 10th. TK, as he commonly known, has been involved with Supra since earlier this year and his venture with the shoe brand has been well-received. Famed in the pro-skateboarding world as the “Jordan of Skateboarding”, TK is the poster child of everything positive. He does not drink, smoke or do drugs, and his squeaky clean image is deemed to be a perfect role model for youngsters.
The Long Beach resident used to be Pharrell Williams’ protege and captain of Pharrell’s skateboarding theme. The collaboration with Supra and KR3W marked his first step into the business world, which he apparently enjoys so much. TK is given full freedom in designing his products and although at the very beginning his shoes were not getting enough heat from skaters, the launch of his store proved that he’s doing things right. As he stated a while back:
“Well first off I love to work with skate companies because they allow you to just be you. I can’t really think of another industry outside of music that lets you be as free and involved as skateboard companies do. Working with Supra/KR3W I was able to totally control my designs. I could pick influences from Gucci, YSL, or anything and have them add it to my board or my shoe. It’s just so much freedom.”
Aside from his keen business -and fashion- sense, TK has also gained the reputation as one humble youngster. In an interview with Persona Magazine a while back, TK credited senior skateboarders who have paved his way such as Steve Williams and Harold Hunter. According to TK, skateboarders usually are humble and conservative, therefore somebody flashier like he is tend to stand out from the crowd. TK also has a positive outlook on the skate culture in the future, hoping to participate in the Olympics with the support of the urban community.
The accomplished young man has also pushed through barriers of hip hop and skate world. The International Pro Skater and Captain of Pharrell’s Ice Cream Skate Team, TK, collaborates with H.I.T., a lyricist from Long Beach and also Currency the Magnolia Hot Spitta in a group called Fly Society.
Seems like TK is doing all things at once, living by his favorite quote: “Do what you love and everything will come.” Everything came indeed, his Supra shoes are available on huge retailers like Karmaloop. Below are the new arrivals from Supra at Karmaloop.

Wait what is with everybody and there own shoe lines I think I'll get me one too. Oh wait I'm not famous. It seems people will buy whatever you got as long as you are currently cool
fly kicks–but not feeling the minstrel show look with the teeth—wtf
Hi Terry,
I admire you as a strong, positive young man. I started watching your reality show and I give it a thumbs up. You are all about family and you want to bring your family up with you. I feel your friend girl came back bacause she wants to ride your gravy train. Be careful. And also keep negative, poisonous people out of your life. Don't let anyone bring you down including your family members. They are the worst. Focus on your goals and accomplishments and you'll win the next scateboard entry and competition. You were not focused when you lost getting into the entry because your uncle and your friend girl distracted you. Block them out. And keep listening to your grandmother. God bless you and keep you safe.
Thanks for sharing. What a plseraue to read!
