How much would you spend to dress your kids to the nines?
I’ve always heard this adage being passed like a rule of thumb: “as a parent, make sure your kids look better than you do.” I remember my mom telling me this, and I always wondered about it. It wasn’t until she got grandkids that I finally got it. Your children are your representatives. Your future. So what are you thoughts on this? Do you pick out whats most expensive, or do you pinch the pocket a little closer when it comes to how your child looks?

i seriously doubt ANY parents would pick out whats most expensive…. I would NEVER!! As me being a mom of 9yr old girl, I try to pick out the clothes that would look good on her and represent who she is inside… of course by adoptin my own swagger! lol If people compliments on what your child got on, that means they love your style. so it's true your children are your representative… well more like a mirror. I mean, I wouldn't wanna be walkin around in raggedy sweats next to my child rockin Gucci.

but what if a child is taught at an early age "its ok to have nice things, as long as you work hard"? Definitely makes a difference in my opinion

not that I have first hand experience with this because I can not speak as a parent. But I imagine that any parent in wanting the best for their child, would seek out clothes that fit, look good, are durable and a number of other adjectives that speak to the quality of the product. As a caring parent. you want for your child what was not afforded to you at the same age. This doesnt necessarily translate into buying what is most or least expensive – for I think a parent gives his/her child the best possible within their means. If that means that a parent can only afford Old Navy and not Burberry, that doesn't mean the child is getting short changed – it simply means that the parent is doing his/her best with the hand that has been dealt

i don't have kids, but when i do. Their outfit/wardrobe won't cost more than mine.
More so equal, I'm not going to be designer head to toe and my child looks like a project kid.
While your child represents you, forget what other people think !
My mom spoiled me, and material things took the place of parenting.

I've always pondered the sanity of parents who buy their children designer clothes. What's the point? They're going to grow out of it in a few weeks, especially when they are younger than 10 years old. The money spent on the designer clothes should be put away in a savings fund for their education, something that will last them much longer than a pair of jeans.

If I were human, I would dress my babies up to the nines. But, alas, I'm just a dog. I plan on getting my owner to buy the best and cutest clothes for my puppies. Wait, I'm spayed. Drat.

I always keep my children fitted. I spend more than my other friends that have children, but it's not something that is important to them. As long as it matters to you, then who cares! I do try to find stuff on sale though, but if not then fuck it.

I always dress my little boy like a prince .
I get a lot of flack form the other moms, but I kinda think they are jealous.
However, I have learned the wonders of Ebay and yard sales, I've picked up $50 outfits for a dollar. My son sports Ralph Lauren, Gap, Oilily, Good Lad, Kelly's Kids, Castles and Crowns, Gymboree and others for pennies on the dollar, and no one is the wiser.
