Jewelry Buzz: The Blackout Collection by Rafaello

rafaello-blackout-collectionIt might be ironic that just when hip hop artists everywhere are now more apt to leave their jewelry at home as a nod to the times, a new fine jewelry collection is taking aim at this very same exclusive demographic. Will rappers take the hook?

The jewelers behind the line do know their customers however. Rafaello, founded by Rafael Aranbayev, his sons Avi and Eric Aranbayev and nephew Gabriel “The Jeweler” Jacobs, has been the jeweler to the stars for over 20 years, including Hollywood A-lists like Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, T-Pain and sport stars like MBA’s Carmelo Anthony and NFL’s Dwight Freeney.

Rafaello has introduced their newest jewelry lineup: The Blackout Collection. The name highlights the prominent use of high-quality black diamonds in rosaries, watches, bracelets and cocktail rings.

Paying tribute to the millions of people who have lost their lives in Africa during the Sierra Leone Civil War, Rafaello has committed to only using conflict-free diamonds and will also donate a certain amount of proceeds to an undisclosed African charity.  The name of the charity will be announced soon.

gabrieljacobs.jpgMaking a point of their close relationship with the music and entertainment world, Rafaello is also the exclusive dealer for Avenir Chrono which carries a limited special edition men’s watch, the “Boss Premier”, which was worn by rapper Rick Ross in his music video “All I Really Want Is You”. The brand is also a major sports sponsor, backing the WBC Welterweight Title fight for Andre Berto.
