Also what does the movie being based in the 1920's in New orleans have to do with the movie and the prince in th movie does not like white and yes tiana does have black features. She looks like a black cartoon and so does the prince. I think everyone should go see the movie, not just black children but all children whether they are black, white, hispanic, indian, or of any other ethnicitiy. I have a 3 year old daughter and she wants all of the Disney "princess" merchandise, but I just don't feel comfortable with the lack of representation. Shout out to Pocahontas and Jasmine, even though it's not 100% at least it was something. She will be Tiana'd downed from head to toe (panties too!!) We are all beautiful -white, black, brown, red, yellow, and that’s what little girls need to know. I'm gone be camped out for tickets--star wars, star trek, harry potter and got nothing on this. Those fans think they know what it feels like to wait a long time for a movie to come out -try 28 years. I am sooo glad. While I do consider Kida...from Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire to be Disney's first Black or even "colored" or "mixed" princess, Tiana will definitely take a special place in the hearts of all little girl...again, not just Black American.
