Stevie Boi Sunglasses: Cool enough to wear indoors!
I’m kind of kicking myself that I wasn’t on the hustle at 19 like this guy was. Stevie Boi, real name Steven C. Strawder, started out two years ago selling his label, Toxic, primarily from his MySpace page. From his success there, to celebs ranging from Beyonce, Eva Marcille Pigford, Santigold, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna.
Lady GaGa is of course, a fan of the masquerade mask, and trying too hard to be different; no shots, her music is pretty decent I’ll give her that!
On top of that, while touring promoting his music he kept notes on what he liked in street wear in all the places he’s been.. It was shortly after that that he got the idea to start making sunglasses out of the recycled fabric he used to make clothes and melding it with eye wear.

Since, he has sold up to 500 pairs, and be found locally at Cult Boutique in Mt. Vernon and around the globe at consignment stores and boutiques in Tokyo.
Having handmade the sunglasses since the very first pair, Strawder recently acquired a manufacturer, who will begin to help him within the next month. This couldn’t have happened at a better time as Stevie Boi eye wear will be featured in the Singapore edition of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine to be released in August or September.
“I was told that I could expect up to 20,000 orders two weeks after the spread hits the shelves,” he says. “I’ve also had other magazines approach me recently.”
Magazines like Marie Claire. His twitter states: “Finished Glasses For Marie Clair Magazine! Time to get busy sewing these Jeans & Hoodies!”
He’s on the move. Does he even have competition here? Is he the trendsetter in the sunglasses world? What makes him so different from designers like OC shades?
It’s weird..I never see anyone with these shades. Is it a regional thing, like stunna shades were in the bay area back in 2007? One can only imagine; what I do know is that it seems Hollywood is the one who is making this trend stick to what the youth wear; especially since a “youth” made it.

i jus received a pair and I guess if u dnt buy a expensive pair then u get the scraps. i could have made these even better and i could have kept my money. i no their homemade but i was expecting 4 them to be more polished their so cheap and thin that if the wind blow their going to go with the wind. the boke down ghetto box that he sent it in and my name was spelled almost wrong in marker. he's very talented he jus need to polish up the fabric alittle more. and smooth the edges unless its going to cut someones face up. im very disappointed, i feel that if u dnt buy the most expensive 1's or if ur not a celebrity then he will send u the bottom of the barrel. and Im a payin customer jus like anyone else and i deserve quality rather i paid $300.00 or $20.00
