Mini-Streetwear Fashions for Cute Kids

Rocawear for Boys

They walk like you, talk like you, look like you and they are just so undeniably cute!!! Who are they??

Your children!!!

When you look at them you can see yourself, and you know it. This is especially evident in how we dress our children to reflect our adult life style and fashion sense.

The childrenswear market is a direct reflection of the hottest trends seen in the adult clothing market. A child’s wardrobe tends to reflect the parents’ tastes since the adults choose the child’s clothes early on. With this in mind the child’s fashion sense is directly influenced by the parent’s choices in apparel.

Everything from professional sports team apparel to formal wear  is offered for infants to pre-teen. Burberry, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Columbia, The NorthFace, DKNY. Haven’t you spotted kids of all ages and their parents in these brands??  Admit it, adult fashions in ”mini me sizes” do look adorable and sometimes irresistible.

The same holds true for streetwear fashion which has also influenced manufacturers and designers globally not only for adult fashions but also for kids apparel. Timberland, Rocawear, Baby Phat, Dereon, Sean John and a host of other brands offer the newest fashion trends for children (as well as adults). Department stores like Macys devote entire floors to kids fashions.  Top designers have complete collections, Kids Runway Fashion Shows, showrooms, campaign ads, websites and in store boutiques for childrenswear. Rocawear, Baby Phat, Sean John to name a few have websites that offer children’s sizes on their e-commerce sites.

As adult streetwear evolved, a “spin-off” look for kids developed and has remained for over 20 years.  Hip Hop looks have gone from over the top graphics and bling to sophisticated looks with emphasis on quality, brand marketing and life style identity.  Urban kids fashions are designed for everyday living and can be seen on infants in cribs, children in strollers, pre-school, classrooms, parties, playgrounds, weddings and more.  And let’s not forget about kid’s accessories such as hats, back packs, boots, sneakers and more!!  Of course the sweatshirt has to have a matching hat!!

In addition we associate certain brand names with fashion, quality and want to provide our children with th ebest from an early age.  Regardless of whether it’s Rocawear or Ralph Lauren there is something adorable about infants, toddlers and pte-teens dressed in adult inspired fashions.  You could say it gives us a chance to see ourselves as children growing up!!

The next time you pass a children’s boutique, e-commerce site or department store window, look at the styling offered.  Or take a look at how your little one is dressed.

Look familiar??

I like you posting! I am designer for a street wear based childrens clothing company called questkids.

Not like your other brands that play on pink and blue motifs. We strictly devote our time and efforts and promoting the lifestyle of the hipster skater snowboarding kids. The only thing is there are alot of shops that are to afraid to carry our products because it dose not fit the mold.

    Check out questkids.com for feedback
