Scarfo’s journey began in 2003 when he signed a management deal with IBC Entertainment. He then decided to enter the underground New York City battle circuit to gain attention to himself and his own record label: Gorilla Pimp Recordings. In 2004, Scarfo won the most money in the history of MTV’s Fight Klub and caught the attention of Jay-Z and L.A. Reid of Def Jam management. Although offered a sweet recording deal for him and his group “Conair”, the project never happened and he was finally released from the deal.

Turns out going independent is the best thing for Scarfo’s career, as he toured with Mobb Deep, got his songs featured on NBA Live 05, Madden 06 and Activision’s True Crime: New York edition video games… even a movie role alongside Mekhi Phifer and Hassan Johnson in A Talent For Trouble.
