Pharrell Williams and Nick Jonas: New American Idol Judges?

American Idol is undergoing a major remodeling, and they do mean major changes, including replacing all the judges. Mariah Carey will take over Jennifer Lopez’s spot, and Nick Jonas and rapper Pharrell Williams are rumored to be the ones replacing Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.
Jonas is reportedly envisioned to attract a younger demographic to the show, while Williams is wanted for his ability to add quality contestants to the lineup, as he is known for his work with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Gwen Stefani as a producer. American Idol is entering its 12th season, and many people think the show could use some fresh blood after continuing to decline in ratings.
US Weekly reported that Nick Jonas is already close to signing an Idol contract after flying to L.A. last week for final meetings. Meanwhile, Pharrell Williams is currently negotiating the terms of his contract, and it looks like everything is going well.
FOX reps have yet to comment on the rumors, but we’ll keep our eyes and ears open.
