Which Rapper Got the Most Cash in 2012? Forbes Answers!

After pulling off a surprise with its previous list of the Highest-Paid Celebrities of 2012, Zack O’Malley Greenburg of Forbes came up with another list that made us wonder where Dr. Dre would be on it. The Cash Kings 2012: Hip-Hop’s Top 20 Earners just came out, and guess what, yes, Dre continues to make our jaws drop. Sitting on top of the list with his $110 million in earnings thanks to his very successful Beats by Dr. Dre headphone line, Dr. Dre zoomed over the list’s “regulars,” such as Diddy, who sits at number two with $45 million, and Jay-Z with his $38 million fortune.

Rapper Kanye West is at number four with $35 million, proving that his collaborations with high-end fashion brand LV and sportswear giant Nike are lucrative businesses along with his own personal gig as a womenswear designer. No wonder the Kardashians are in favor of his relationship with Kim K. Just look at what they would be merging with if the two got married!

Young Money’s boss, Lil Wayne, made it to number five with $27 million. With his earnings, he certainly has no reason to avoid paying his recording company’s producers, as we previously reported. At number six, Canadian rapper Drake made it onto the list with $20.5 million in earnings, and at number seven, Birdman is catching up with Drizzy with only a slight difference at $20 million. Lil Wayne’s protege, Nicki Minaj, earned $15.5 million, surpassing rapper Eminem, who sits at number nine with exactly $15 million. Number 10, birthday boy Ludacris enjoys his $12 million and still manages to do some good.
