New Awesome Gear: Lil Wayne Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones
The celebrity-endorsing bug has bitten rapper Lil Wayne, and it apparently bit hard since he seems to be stamping his name on just about everything these days. First, it was his Trukfit clothing line earlier this year, followed by his Supra sneaker line last month, and now the rapper has lent his name to mega-producer Dr. Dre for his renowned Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.
Lil Wayne has been a fan of Dre’s Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, and if we tell you he’s a hardcore fan, we’re not kidding. Back in February, Weezy wore a pair of diamond-studded Beats by Dr. Dre headphones that were said to be valued at $1 million to the NBA All-Star Game. The diamonds were crafted by Graff Diamonds, and the iced-out gear immediately attracted attention from geeks, rappers, and the entire World Wide Web.
So can we expect Lil Wayne’s own Beats by Dr. Dre line to be diamond-studded? Nope, but the pro headphones will come in two awesome colorways: red and red/black. The Lil Wayne red pro headphones will be on sale for a limited time in mid-October directly through the Beats by Dr. Dre company. The red/black combo will debut at the same time, but it will be available to a wider audience via Amazon and Best Buy.
