Naked Blue by Christopher Enuke
You might not all too familiar with the name Christopher Enuke in the streetwear world. But if you’re a denim collector you might be familiar with his brand Oligo Tissew which has dressed the likes of Lenny Kravitz.
The designer just launched his newest label “Naked Blue” for which he’s expanded his design inspiration to New Zealand, where he explores the Maori culture and infuses it into his newest designs.
Christopher Enuke, Naked Blue Designer
Enuke launched Naked Blue back in August 2009 and the collection is nothing but major dope. The Maori-art infusion in the design is stunning, and also check out the well-applied details in the collection. SoJones.com is also loving the detailed skinny jeans, and cargo pants which is expected from such a designer as Enuke.
Enuke told Blackburn and Sweetzer:
“Of course, my first association for Naked Blue was water,” Enuke says, “but the ‘naked’ part had to be incorporated as well. That led me to think about different peoples who still today are very connected to their environment and so I eventually found the Maori in New Zealand. I immersed myself into their culture, studied their paintings, body art, and religion.”
Naked Blue is housed under the Canadian fast-fashion retailer, CMT (Clothing for Modern Times) Group, and their collection can be found in CMT’s LA design studio in Boyle Heights. Here are some Naked Blue stuff you might love.
