If you launched your own clothing line, you’d probably start with just a few items to test the waters. That’s not the case with AVRUMI RUMARIO COLLECTION or ARC.  The American-born who lived in Jamaica and got his inspirations there,  Rumi Rumarr adopts modern culture from hip hop to skate to music and merges them into his creations, which is already divided into three different collections and each collection consists of more than 5 designs.  Talk about bold determination.  Rumi shares the details of AVRUIM RUMARIO COLLECTION.

Introduce yourself and describe how your brand was started?
I’m Rumi Rumarr , the owner and designer for AVRUMI RUMARIO COLLECTION or ( ARC / A.RU ) depending on if your a hip hop head/skate as we have a skate group with our line as well. The line was started in Jamaica as far as the idea/ name which came from a mixture of my first name and a name I used to be called in Jamaica and then brought back to the states which I am originally from then from here pushed to get off the ground. We are a very new crisp line.

Describe this season and next season’s looks. Include any sources of inspiration
Well this season I will say we have alot of colors out right now. We have a mens and womens line. We literally have all types of designs and fits like for example we have other designs that are a more simple clean look with maybe not as many colors. We have hundreds of designs that we want to put out, just waiting to be able to have enough money from shirts sales to flip the money to print new designs, ideas, etc, but trust us all of them are fresh. We are deff. out of the box and innovative, we dont want to be pigeon-holed into one category because we’re not one category, we’re diverse and unique and always changing and always open to new things an new looks. You know when I was a kid we tried to have an come up with the cleanest and dopest out fit we could to wear out, anything goes for fashion and creativity is a great contributor. Although we for sure have our roots in Hip-hop we also are influenced and involved in other things as well like skateboarding, extreme sports, we have a fittéd line coming out that will be a more fitted type cut and would be something you would see or find in say the retail store Buckle, trust us their fire and you can
see a sneak peak if you go to the site an look under the Fittéd line www.avrumirumario.com or www.aruskate.com. As far as influences for our clothing in looks and design, we have been and get influenced from everything to cats hanging out on the Ave. Outside of some New York City projects to a rare animal in the jungle you may of never seen. So just giving you the wide spectrum that any and everything can influence us everyday here at ARC in our designs and thoughts. As for next season and the look, well that’s a surprise and you’ll have to follow us to see what new gear we release.

What celeb or well-known figure(s) exemplify the brand?
Well say anyone that wants to rock our gear would exemplify our brand weather its Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, Keri Hilson, Tony Hawk, Pharrell, or Paris Hilton wed be cool with it b/c everyone has their own style and flava to bring to the fit. And we love music so we’re definitely supporters of all music artist. Music is a love of ours.

Any product placements on celebs, in movies or videos to keep an eye out for?
Sure, although we dont have any official sponsorship deals with any of them were deff always running into celebrities that get gear from us and show love such as Plies, Young Dro, Yung LA,Yo Gotti, Operas
father,Young Buck, Jaekwon , Kia shine ,etc. The list will grow as we grow an expand. But shout out to all of them for showing love for the line. We really appreciate it. Sorry if we forgot to mention some of you, just going off the top of the head. But you know who you are. And as for videos an such well since we are a very new line we haven’t even got into out promotion/ marketing phase but thats the phase were literally starting now so we have opended the door an about to walk through it and thats why were here doing this interview with Sojones.com which we think is a dope online magazine and support by the way . LOL. So follow us with time coming well be doing big things. And always feel free to leave feedback about our lines or clothing, website, etc. We like it when our people get involved and let us know their thoughts an in return that gives us ideas or lets us know if something needs to be fixed on the site, etc.

Any expansion plans?

Of course. We wanna take our brand to be a major brand in the market. So for any major retailers that are reading this and think we both might be a good fit for each other, contact us and well see what
we can potentially work out. We have alot of plans to expand and build in the near future and future. We’ll still have exclusive fits though for those who like the limited editions, can’t wait when we release
our sneakers! But we need your help so if you like what were doing then let us know, and show support. We want our customers to get involved with the line and actaully see what were about as I was
saying were a lifestyle brand. Hip hop, skaters, artist, music, warriors, surf, exteme sports, we love it all.

Looking ahead over the next year or two, what themes/looks/styles do you see your brand gravitating to?
That’s an easy one. With the constant change in look, fashion, new ideas, that all wont be known until that particular time, or is top secret and is in our maximum security sealed vault in and undisclosed location.

What themes/looks/styles do you see your brand moving away from?
Can’t say because we do our own thing here from the ARC TEAM and if we feel something is hot or fresh then well put it out for our customers. And only time tells what will happen, before the skinny jeans look
came back in I dont think anyone saw that coming but it’s here. So just goes to show you, you never know whats in store for the future.

What has been a surprise fashion hit over the last year?
Well for me ” Rumi Rumarr” personally speaking I would say the skinny jeans in the Hip Hop culture or the real fitted jeans. I was in Jamaica and its funny because that’s actually how they dress down there. They don’t really were all the baggy stuff at all like in the states, maybe because its mad hot down there. They are either wearing fitted fits or like fitted jeans or some rude skinny type jeans. So for me it seemed like I moved there and when I left, everyone was wearing the baggy fits still in the states, then I came back and BAM! SKINNY JEANS. LOL! I was like, they rockin skinnys in the states ? LOL. So yea for me probably the skinny fits / tops and bottoms.
