Michael Vick: Back to the Spotlight Again with “The Michael Vick Project”

I’m Michael Vick. My fall from grace was tragic, but it was all my fault. Now I’m on a mission to get everything back. Not the money and the fame, but to restore my families good name. This is…The Michael Vick Project.

Vick’s glory days

So begins the reality series road to redemption of one of the finest quarterbacks to ever play the game. What exactly has he gone through to make him sorry? Has he really changed? More importantly, do you really care if he has or not?

The younger Michael Vick was a mentor. His father wasn’t around much due to drugs, but would you believe this is the first field Michael ever played football on?

Vick then played for Virginia Tech and, well you know the rest.

But in spite of the Wheaties boxes, the numerous magazine covers giving accolades a quarterback usually gets after 5+ years in the game, Vick made a huge mistake. And unlike the ones where you can come back after paying a fine or some community service, this one got him in some deep trouble.

Vick started “Bad News Kennels” in 2001 with two other guys. He was so dedicated to it he bought a house just so the fellas had a place to hang out as they participated in dog fighting.

With the biggest contract in NFL history waiting for his John Hancock, Vick signed a 10 year, $130 million contract with a $37 million signing bonus. He got a little reckless after that!

Has Vick won your viewership?

So reckless that his first thoughts were, “maybe I can pay my lawyers off.” The family was devastated as the feds continued investigating. So Vick begins his journey to forgiveness with us fans, viewers, and consumers as a whole. The dramatic ending shows Vick’s darkest days ahead…

Everything is usually brought to light when these guys step in.

So did you watch the show, reader? What did you think? Do you think Vick is only sorry cause he got caught?

good2forgive – You don't have to feel sorry for him, its none of your business! Worry about your own issues and problems

I don't fell sorry for him, because he knew the pain he was causing those animals. But I also feel what he is saying about growing up in that envrionment. Growing up the people I knew thought of Pitt Bulls strictly as fighting dogs, some of them wouldn't let you pet or play with their Pit Bull pups because they wanted them to grow up to be mean, and some people would even put hot sauce in the dog food, with the intention of making the dog mean. You see some guys who have Pitts that are so afraid of them that the dog acts scared all the time, and all of this is something you see or hear about all the time in my neighborhood. Its not right, but when everyone else around you has that attitude toward Pitt Bulls, its hard to be the one who treats things differently.

I watched the show on BET and I can't say that I feel sorry for him. However, I do understand how easy it is as a blk male, growing up in what some would call the "GHETTO" can fall and venture down the wrong path when you dont have the proper infrastructure to support you. Having a S@!% load of money makes that path even more dangerous. I will continue to watch this 10 part series though. I'm intrigued to see what else is ahead.

I'm getting really irritated with these comments of judgement! Vick defiantly deserved the jail time, and he did precisely that! Absolutely no one has any right to complain or murmur making negative remarks in his regard. I really suggest like I mention before, to look into your own life and worry about yourselves. For one day you will be judge!

The show is all about Vick making excuses. He is an arrogant SOB who tortured and killed innocent animals. Oddly enough, the show is co produced by a Vick company. Many people grow up poor, without a strong family influence and don't make the choices Vick made. Killing is not a "mistake" it is a decision he made and has yet to really show any true remorse for. Anyone who feels sorry for him is a bigger idiot that he is.

Can anybody tell me please what is your idea of true remorse?? What does the man have to do, to PROVE that he's truly sorry and regrets his actions!

To prove his true remorse he could begin by not making everything about him, and he could give any profits from this show to animal welfare groups. He has once to show remorse for the dogs he tortured and killed. And what is this about repairing his family name? His brother us as bad as him. He is keeping his nose clean now while he is still on probation, let's just so what happens next.
