Jay-Z and Beyonce, looking very much like a First Couple!

In a world of Hollywood’s neverending marriage drama, there’s nothing more refreshing than seeing an intact couple sticking together and showing real support for one another’s causes.  Hip hop powerhouse Beyonce and Jay-Z were spotted together last week at the groundbreaking ceremony of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the future home for the New Jersey Nets.

Other famous faces including Rev. Al Sharpton, the city’s mayor and governor of New York were also present at the event. In his speech, Jay-Z repped his pride as a Brooklyn native, and how excited he was for the team:

“What I stand here and represent is hope for Brooklyn, New York City. I’m a son of Brooklyn, I’m from Marcy projects. I think about growing up in Brooklyn in the Marcy projects and shooting jump shots, thinking I can make it to the NBA. Now I stand here as an owner of a team that’s coming back to Brooklyn. The pride in that, and bringing that dream so much closer for people, brings me so much pride I get a little nervous about it. But I’m very happy, very excited about this day. And we did it again, Brooklyn — shout-out to [Notorious] B.I.G.”

Beyonce was looking elegant in her houndstooth suit, and looking somewhat ‘First Wife’-like. Let’s think about this for a sec, SoJones readers: if Hova were ever to dip his toe into the politricks game, do you think Bey could cut it as a politician’s wife?

    No Beyonce can not be a politicians wife. She is so dumb, and the video with Lady Gaga just killed the whole role mjodel thing. In my opinion, her blazer is cut down way to deep, all that clevage is uncalled for. Didn't Mama Knowles teach her how to dress professional. Then again, she has never been on a real job interview. He is not sellin sex but business. Soon there will be a divorce, i see it coming.

    I agree snw. This is an abusive marriage. I hope that Beyonce gets some sense and realizes that she is married to an idiot thug. She can do so much better.

    ..is there such a thing as…"over exposure" im so over this couple…they in yah face 24/7 media..news…can they just give it a break? maybe take some time off and come back with some new stuff, they boring as hell now. there music is boring…they look boring.

    Beyonce's grown. Lol @ people being mad Beyonce Married Jay-Z. She's got plenty of Common Sense to be where she's at. There's a reason they are togethor, get over it. They like it how they area nd they are both very smart people.

    Wasn't feeling that bright red lipstick but i know that's probably a media move.. something about a woman wearing red lipstick, brigh red means 'give me attention' or something. So it makes them a center of attention
