Christian Siriano for Payless
Project Runway winner, Christian Siriano, debuted his line of Egyptian-inspired footwear for Payless at New York Fashion Week. The color selections were deep browns, chocolate, and aqua satin with print similar to hieroglyphics. The shoe line will be sold in 400 Payless stores across the country for $25 to $45 this fall.

Siriano states, “I’m so excited to design and create with such an amazing brand that is all about fashion and trend, but most importantly, is also about affordability.” It is really gratifying to see an up and coming designer start from the bottom and work his way up. He could have easily branched out to the likes of Saks and Neiman Marcus, but his choice to reach the lives and pockets of those that supported him during his time on Project Runway is a breath of fresh air. Siriano seems to be eager to make affordable clothing, shoes, and accessories for his fan base as well as reflect the reality of the current economy.
The showcase of the current heel designs are reflective of the heel selection that are typically seen on the feet of several top notch R&B performing artist such as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Keyshia Cole and others. Although their choice of footwear is usually, “…the Christian Louboutins with the four inch heels,” as Jay-Z once pointed out; Siriano’s designs will allow females to imitate their favorite R&B/Hip-Hop diva. The external creativity with these heels is beyond impeccable with the use of chains and spikes that makes the heel standout amid others. Christian Siriano has put a lot of genuine thought and expression into this line and only displays as prosperous in the near future if he continues to project difference in his designs with a cheap price attached.
