Biz Markie Plans Launching For Two Clothing Lines In 2007

Since retro fashions have become a new fad, it is only right the rappers that the style was originally worn by re-entered the fashion scene. Rapper & Beat Box legend Biz Markie is making sure he is one of the rappers that takes advantage of the current state of Urban and Hip-Hop fashion.

Markie is set to launch his first two clothing collections in 2007 as he looks to follow in the footsteps of other music artists such as Sean Diddy Combs, Curtis Jackson, and Shawn Carter.

One of Markie’s clothing lines will feature affordable T-shirts and jeans. The other brand is for the more refined person, looking for a classic or upscale image. It will consist of euro-fashion designs and tailored suits.

Credible resources told SoJones.com, Natalie Hoo will be the creative director for the lines. Just-Style also reported the same name as the brand’s creative direcotr.

Hoo says the lines pay homage to the relationship of ink and flesh.

“We have a technique. When you touch the garments you cannot feel the ink, just as you would not feel a tattoo on your skin.”

Biz Markie stepped onto the scene in 1985, at age fourteen, as the beatbox backup for Roxanne Shant of the Juice Crew.

The names of the clothing brands has yet to be released. Detailed information will be posted as it becomes available on the SoJones.com on-line fashion community boards. Photos from launch parties or promotional campaigns will also be released through the urban & hip-hop fashion community.
