Reebok Launches New Campaign Featuring Lil Wayne, Mike Jones, Lupe Fiasco

“I Am What I Am” is what the global sneaker manufacturer Reebok has used for their latest advertising slogan.

The campaign, based around the image of athletes and Hip Hop artists, is supposed to represent individualism of each person to design and wear a shoe that fits their personality, lifestyle, and comfort demands.

The latest campaign additions are a little different from others already signed to the campaign however.

Rap Artists Lil Wayne, Lupe Fiasco, and Mike Jones have been combined to promote one Reebok sneaker. The company has yet to release general information on their newest Hip Hop additions’ campaign. However, photos from Mike Jones’ sneaker release event were posted on the URB1.COM fashion forums, in the “Clothing Check” and “Sneaker Supreme” sections.

The sneaker created for each rapper differs in color but are equal in design essentially. Entitled the “OG Collection” as a collective, the sneakers Wayne, Lupe, and Jones wear in the campaign are scheduled to be released February 28, 2006.

Previews of the sneaker will probably be available at the late February Magic Fashion Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Not open to the public, event photos and information related to Urban and Hip Hop Fashion will be found on URB1.COM, the URB1.COM Fashion Forums, and also in URB1 Magazine.

Previous artists and athletes in Reebok’s “I Am What I Am” promotional campaign include Shawn “JayZ” Carter; Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson; Yeo Ming of the Houston Rockets; Allen Iverson of the Philly 76ers; Tennis Legends Venus and Serena Williams; Luicy Liu and more.

URB1 Magazine has reached out to Reebok to do a joint venture, releasing detailed photos and information on each sneaker released for Hip Hop artists. Thus far, nothing is solid however on such a deal. URB1 Magazine’s March/April issue will contain photos of the OG Collection.
