Sean John Wins Fashion Award

Sean “P.Diddy” Combs pulled much love from a fashion industry group that has left his name off the list for a long time. The CFDA awards ceremoney, which is also known as the Council of Fashion Designers of America, named P.Diddy the top menswear designer of the year for his Sean John collection at it’s annual awards show.

This award comes coincidentally, shortly after P.Diddy pulled Sean John from the “hiphop” fashion category and added it to the “pop” category. The changes in the designer styles Sean John present have also targeted a new crowds as a lot of P.Diddy’s runway designs includes European-like fashions.

Being Combs’ first win eventhough he’s had four previous nominations, it was definately a day of celebration for him. Wearing a white tuxedo jacket Puff told the audience of current and aspiring designers, stylists, models, fashion editors, video directors, artists, and store owners that years ago he stood in the Ralph Lauren store “saving my pennies” for a new Polo shirt. “I am te living American dream.”

Soon after, Puff shouted, “Ralph, you’re still the sexiest male on the planet!”

And while Puff is shooting like a star across the fashion galaxy, beyond many’s preference, the question is will he reach “high fashion” one day. Urb1 definately thinks the potential is there but it is very much hoped he will never forget the hiphop culture that his hustle and creativity was hatched from.
