Dame Dashes Wife Rachel Roy Launches Rachel Roy Clothing

Rap mogul Damon Dash’s wife is following in her husband’s entrepreneurial footsteps by launching her own fashion line.
Rachel Roy, who exchanged nuptials with Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dash in January (05), currently serves as design director for Rocawearand has now launched her eponymous collection of women’s clothing in time for spring.
She says, “This is my dream! When I began the new line eight months ago, it was supposed to be a higher end collection for Rocawear. But Damon saw it and said, ‘It’s not Rocawear. It’s its own thing.’
“The daytime stuff includes lots of low-slug men’s-style pants and chiffon tops. I love mixing and matching styles. But the dresses are long and slinky – inspired by the ’70s!”
The announcement of Roy’s line comes shortly after Dame Dash’s cancelling ownership ties with Charlotte Ronson and her clothing line, C-Ronson. Dash is still successfully maintaining his mp3 player company, Roc-Box, filming company, Damon Dash Films, and over 5 other businesses that range from liqour to clothing.
