Jeezy Snowman T-shirt Banned In Another School District

A t-shirt of a snowman frowning has caused much controversy in Atlanta, Georgia. Rap artist Young Jeezy’s frowning snowman has caused a stir in the United States and now has been banned in a Florida Public School system.

Superintendent Gail McKenzie told principals in the school district last week about the t-shirt, featuring a frowning snowman, usually followed by various cocaine references. School officials became aware of the shirts after they started popping up on many campuses across the school district.

We understood that snow is a reference to cocaine, Assistant Superintendent Bruce Tonjes recently stated. If thats what people understand the meaning of this to be, that doesnt mean the person wearing it understands. If thats the message it sends, we take the necessary measures to remove it from our campuses.

Any clothing that promotes drugs, alcohol or sex is strictly banned under the policy set by the Polk County School Board. For first offenders, students will be asked to turn the shirt inside out or to change the shirt altogether.

Parents of the students are called after the second offense.

Anti-drug campaigners chose to bypass other political issues within the urban community and drew criticism to the snowman t-shirt earlier this month which caused the cancellation of the product line by limited arts on fashion company, Miskeen Originals.

“In all honesty, worrying about a t-shirt half the kids wear without a clue to it being anything beyond a snow man, which represents ice and bling, is pretty wild in my opinion. There’s a lot more issues people could devote their time to but we all choose our battles”, said Rod Rainey, owner of URB1 Magazine (a hip hop fashion magazine).

Mr. Rainey, founded the 1st completely Hip Hop Fashion internet and print publications. His knowledge on the matter was professed to be vague, saying the rapper’s quote “Call me Jeezy the snow man // I got ice plus I got dough man” is the only thing he knows the shirt to represent.

People aggravated by the Snowman design contacted the founder of URB1.COM about earlier statements made on Miskeen’s cancellation of the line. The founder of the Hip Hop fashion publications basically told readers to redirect the business to upcoming Urban and Hip-Hop fashion designers. However, the response caught some of those questioning off gaurd. Some even admitted his answer made them rethink their questioning.

“Come on. People are worried about kids seeing a snow man on a t-shirt, when there’s guns on television shows on cable networks everyday of the week? Probably every hour of the day. This is just another hypocritical action in my view. Just about as bad as 50 Cent’s Ads that were pulled because they showed a gun on them. Right after I read Mr. Jackson’s ads were pulled, I went and looked at my Terminator and Matrix DVDs. Then I went online to browse promo photos. I saw more guns there than anything 50 Cent has been involved in probably. If you’re going to beam down on something, make sure it’s not just Hip Hop culture. I don’t advocate violence or drugs, but both were inflamed way before Hip Hop. There’s a political side people are avoiding.”

Education officials and anti-drug campaigners are alarmed stating that the T-shirt symbolizes the white substance cocaine.

Reports state that the shirt has been bootlegged heavily and is being sold on the black market as well, symbolizing the very probable longevity of the t-shirt. “If your child is wearing the shirt and you think it’s drug related, talk to them about what’s right and wrong then. Communicate!” is what another website browser said on the subject.

In related news, Young Jeezy recently announced he inked a deal with Rocawearclothing for both of his clothing lines’ distribution. The two lines are scheduled to be titled D Boy Apparel and USDA.
