Beyonce and Tina Launch Clothing Line

Superstar singer/actress Beyonce and her mother/stylist Tina Knowles have announced the name of their highly anticipated clothing line, The House of Dereon (de – ron).

The line is named after Tina Knowles’ mother and Beyonce’s grandmother. The House Of Dereon honors the woman who worked as a seamstress for a living and started Tina’s love of fashion.

The line, inspired by three generations of women who have joined together in a labor of love, is expected to hit stores in Fall 2005.

The mission of these fashions is to fuse celebrity power and design artistry into a brand of global importance … a house of aspiration and inspiration … where entertainment and fashion merge seamlessly. The House of Dereon — Couture. Kick. Soul.

Beyonce told Urb1, “To me, this is the greatest way to enter into the fashion world. Inspired by my grandmother, working with my mother and pursuing a dream we have all had for many years — establishing an important fashion company.”
