In 1995, New York City saw the birth of 10.Deep/Tenth, a clothing line created by its namesake design firm and creative crew.
10.Deep is a label which prides in its quality design and bold, attention-grabbing details. The label believes in creating stylish apparel without forsaking quality.
Heralded as one of New York’s genuine streetwear labels, 10.Deep merchandise is more than just the pioneer of street chic. Its apparel aims to stimulate the thoughts, ideologies, and actions of people from the past and the present. The merchandise also emanates uniqueness and freshness.
10.Deep strives to create apparel which do not answer to trends or what people think is hot. Simply put, the label’s motto is “forget everyone and listen to yourself!” After all, strength depends on the hands of a person, and not the conventional norms.
Throughout its 14 years in the business, 10.Deep has launched a number of collections which truly stimulated the minds and style senses of people. For the past two years, 10.Deep has made waves with its stylish seasonal collections and mind-blowing graphic tees.
10.Deep welcomed Summer 2007 with its ‘hot’ collection named “Lazy Summer Days”. It celebrates debauchery, sloth, and a number of maleficent behaviors brought about by the summer heat. Perhaps its most famous piece is its shorts – which came in 4 stylish designs.
In September, 10.Deep released its Fall 2007 collection. This pivotal collection was marked as one of the label’s “most mature lines.” The collection consisted of jackets, plaid flannels, yarn-dyed fleece, and the “Slim and Straight” denim. 10.Deep celebrated Holiday 2007 with a bang with the launch of the “Mesmer” collection.
10.Deep launched the first leg of its Spring 2008 collection, entitled “Champion life” in March 2008. The collection is composed of denim, outerwear, and rubber-coated fabrics inspired by collegiate culture, secret cliques of the rich and famous, and the traditional vintage polo.
The following month, the label launched its Spring 2008 collection’s second lookbook, which was tagged as “Rise of the 10th Brigade”. The apparel, claimed to be more “straight out” and “frank”, was inspired by youth rebellion, 80’s New York Hardcore, and Do-it-yourself culture. By May, 10.Deep, in collaboration with Wale, launched a collaborative effort tee named “Serenity Now!”
In July 2008, 10.Deep unveiled its most-awaited Summer 2008 Collection aptly-named “Party while you’re still living”. It consisted of shorts, short-sleeved button downs, and graphic tees, the most notable one being the collaborative effort between 10.Deep and Diamond.
The company released its first lookbook of the Fall 2008 collection in August. Named “Veni, Vidi, Vici” the collection managed to successfully fuse American Iconography and dark-humor thoughts in its fleece garments, technical outerwear, and classy button-ups.
October saw the launch of the second lookbook of the Fall 2008 collection titled “I vs. I.” The iconic collection boasted of loud graphic tees, and fashion-forward outerwears such as the World War Seven Reversible Vest and Duck and Cover Jacket.
In December 2008, 10.Deep launched its holiday collection themed “Get High, Stay High.” It featured tees, scarfs, and caps which allowed patrons to celebrate the holidays in style.
10.Deep welcomed 2009 with an announcement of crew expansion, a wider base of products, and larger events such as artist mixtapes, and unexpected collaborations.
In March, the company launched its first installment of the Spring 2009 collection lookbooks, entitled “Ninety Nine Now!” The unique lookbook, which deviated from 10.Deep’s traditional linear format, featured the label’s wide array of clothes, including modified fleece bodies, button-ups, outerwears and cardigans.
A month later, 10.Deep launched its Spring 2009 collection Lookbook 2 themed “Keep it Moving”. The clothing collection focused on the era of street style when the “penny loafer” generation injected the style of preppy sportswear brands with a bit of individual swagger.
10.Deep merchandise can be bought at several stores in New York, California, Florida, New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Maryland, Illinois, Massachusetts, Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Wisconsin, Virginia and Hawaii. The label is also available in Japan, United Kingdom, France, Canada and Puerto Rico.
10.Deep apparel can also be purchased online Karmaloop.com, Cmonwealth.com, Digitalgravel.com, Boundlessny.com, Turntablelab.com, and the label’s official website, www.10deep.com.
