Alternative Apparel first came out in 1996 through the efforts of Atlanta-based creative designer Greg Alterman. What once was a t-shirt selling venture based in his car became one of the most clamored brands of today. Greg shattered boundaries when he transformed the simple, random shirt into more than just a usual staple in everybody’s closets. True enough, he single-handedly managed to elevate the status of the t-shirt into the ‘centerpiece’ of one’s wardrobe. With his passion of making ‘perfect’ shirts, Alternative Apparel has managed to transform into one of the most sought after apparel lines today.

Alternative Apparel is known for its passion and unique approach to fashion. The merchandise are borne out of everyday random inspirations. Afterwards, they transcend to the drawing board and become sketches of what would become a unique shirt that enables the wearer to fully represent his identity.

In the company’s response to Greg’s bold footsteps, Alternative Apparel designers truly believe in the shirt’s power in enabling the wearer to fully express himself. They continue to encourage patrons to decorate, accessorize, and wear their shirts any way they want. To truly bring variety into the shirts, Alternative Apparel brings in a variety of thinkers, shakers and movers – fashionistas who come in the form of designers, musicians, artisans, students, activists, and a whole lot more. In fact, Alternative Apparel has teamed up with young designer Yigal Azrouel for the line’s stylish Fall collection.

Alternative Apparel specializes in women’s short sleeve tees, sleeveless tees, tanks, long sleeve tees, fleeces, and bottoms; men’s short sleeve tees, sleeveless tees, tanks, long sleeve tees and fleeces; and babies / toddlers’ short sleeve and long sleeve tees. Alternative Apparel also manufactures accessories such as scarves, classic headwear, military caps, baseball caps, headbands, beanies, and bags.

The line is also famous for its ‘alternative clothing’ made of eco-friendly material such as those in the Alternative Earth, Eco-Vertigrain, Eco-Heather, Burnout, Heather Burnout, Pima Cotton and Organic Cotton collections. In fact, it has launched “Think Earth“, an interactive lifestyle campaign last March to help inspire people ‘to make a difference,’ to compliment their environmentally friendly yet chic merchandise.

With its unique and fresh fashion ideas, Alternative Apparels have been seen on a number of celebrities and personalities such as Pop stars Joe and Nick Jonas, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, John Mayer, Brad Pitt, Ashton Kutcher and much more.
