An example of Artist Proof funky tees.
Also the founder of Toy Qube and Ocean Star Apparel Inc, Keith Poon is the genius behind Artist Proof. The clothing line began in 2008 with its pilot design, the sharky tee. By the holidays, Keith Poon was already cooking up something else for Artist Proof. Even as a designer of Sharkey and Kanser collectible vinyl toys, Poon was ready to spread his wings – onto clothes and fashion.
For the holiday’s season and Artist Proof’s first collaboration, Poon teamed up with the talented Lucas Irwin, also known as Filth. Irwin, a Brooklyn based designer is also known to have contributed to the creation of Ready Made Magazine and even served as the art director for some time. He is also known to have earned numerous awards for himself and for the magazine during his stay at Ready Made and his artwork was appreciated by many.
Artist Proof’s first collection was made out of various t-shirts, French terry hood and crew necks, Tricot Jackets, denim and even sweaters. All of these were designed with gritty, creative and colorful artwork. Aside from the clothes, Artist Proof’ has their very own mascot, mini Sharky, who was first released on June 9, 2008. Sharky was molded into several different versions by established artists from international and local places in a gallery event held in August of 2008.

Another great tee from Artist Proof.
This successful event garnered endorsers from Plaztik Magazine, Complex and Frank 151 Magazines. Truly, hitting many birds with one stone is Artist Proof’s very goal – and is quite good at it for that matter. With eye-catching designs, innovative graphics and a director and founder experienced in the fashion industry, Artist Proof was doing great.
Artist Proof has their collection available in the Ritzy Rover Cardboard Spaceship, Lulubell Toy Bodega, Yoyashop, Rooted Movement, Android 8, 3D Retro, Just Be Complex, Kid Robot, Magic Pony, Munky King, My Plastic Heart, Ningyoushi, Qeester, Rotofugi Designer Toy Store and Gallery, Designer Toy Box, Schmancy Toys, Sweaty Frog, Tower Records, Toy Tokyo, Wootini, Robot Love, Panik’s Toy Box, Vinyl Fixx, Kung Fu Toys and Tenacious Toys for mini Sharky.
Although only a few months in the fashion industry, Artist Proof knows exactly what kinds of street wear are most attractive to people. Simple, yet comfortable, quality clothing and stylish designs all packed into one brand – Artist Proof. With the best supporters, a founder who knows his way around the business and great designs, Artist Proof is bound to go a long way.
