Ash Shoes is the labor of love of two shoe design geniuses – Leonello Calvani and Patrick Ithier. The duo’s vast fashion experience, their unique ideas, and their impeccable sense of style became immediately apparent in their elegant footwear.

Ash Shoes, founded in 2000, is famous for its fresh ideas, seemingly keeping in touch with the ever-changing fashion appetites of many. Their marvelous line of glamorous footwear were immortalized in their stunning collections. The acclaim the shoe line has received enabled them to open showrooms in fashion capitals around the world, including Paris, London, Barcelona, Athens, Copenhagen, New York, and Milan.

Ash Shoes is famous for its two Spring-Summer 2009 collections both the main line and the Fashion Sportn line. The Main line, dubbed as ‘Oriental Elegance‘ is famous for its elegant shoes which hint of Eastern influence. The collection emanates the ideas of freedom, variety, and unity in style. The collection presents everything under the sun – ranging from open-toe boots, patent wedges, and woven ballerinas which boast of trapezoid heels.

Ash Shoes’ main line Oriental Elegance exudes the “hippie chic” style which is very famous nowadays. Most of the shoes in the collection boast of unique shapes and wooden heels which are delicately embellished with fine details. Some boast of metal heels, with shimmering studs and jewelry adorning the shoe. The Indian weave developed by the company has also found its way on the line’s wedges and ballerina footwear. The colors come in vivid shades, such as fuchsia, red coral, emerald green, and dark violet. Ash Shoes also designs stylish men’s shoes, as chronicled in the Spring – Summer 2009 Men’s Collection. The line, although containing only the styles Razor Man and Ventury Man, presents much promise in the brand’s flourishing men’s collection.

The company broke ground when they opened their first boutique in London, lined along the prestigious Marylebone High Street.  The opening of the London flagship store was the brand’s first attempt at making the line an international name. The showroom, designed by Yuri Catania, exudes a feeling of sophistication and vintage craftsmanship. The design of the area was inspired by travel and music, which are just some of the characteristics inherent to the company. These inspirations were translated into Catania’s use of vintage travel trunks and modern-day loudspeakers. The 40-square meter showroom houses the line’s two collections, with the main line showcased through the vintage trinkets and beautiful cases, and the Fashion Sport collection (a hit within the youth circle) exhibited in dark wood display cases.
