In 2004, frustrated artist Mittra Khayam launched the label Blood is the New Black, which was based on a thesis she written years ago. The line, born in Los Angeles and now based in Silverlake, California aims to showcase emerging artists, help boost their artistic careers, and to expose these unknown artist to the world.
