Delicious Vinyl was founded by UCLA student, Michael Ross and DJ Mike Dike in 1987 after they met at a Hollywood club called Rhythm Lounge. Both found out their shared interest in soul, funk and hip hop.They also  found out that they were both members of Impact Record Pool, thus soon after, began their own record label. Success came soon after with their first release by Tone Loc. Recently, co-founder Mike Dike left the label, but Ross stayed to keep the business running, making Delicious Vinyl one of the longest running independent record labels.

This indie record label and fashion clothing line has been dominating the market for some years now. With music as its entire foundation and inspiration, it wasn’t a wonder why they have been around for so long. The designs made by Delicious Vinyl are classic, simple and usually made out of basic or light colors such as white, yellow, purple, black and gray.

Delicious Vinyl stillcontinues to record music and albums, but on the side they have provided cool graphic tees to promote their label. Street-savvy and fashionistic funky is the only way to describe the company’s cool tees.

Recently, the record label’s tees have been gaining a celebrity following. Some of these include Twilight celebrities Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson who were both seen rocking their Delicious Vinyl shirts. If that wasn’t big enough, Cleveland Cavaliers’ Lebron James and L.A Laker’s Lamar Odom have also been spotted wearing Delicious Vinyl’s stylish t-shirts.

Multi-producing company Delicious Vinyl has been featured on Format Magazine, Dazed and Confused, China Shop Magazine and Urb Magazine, for their famous fashion line and their collection of artists and awesome records.

Success in an indie label doesn’t come around that often but for Dilicious Vinyl, it has. Maybe it was their spontaneity, or their talent graphic artists or their ability to spread their focus not only on music but also fashion. Whatever it is, Delicious Vinyl is surely going to spend another decade celebrating success and proving their creativity.
