Right at the heart of San Francisco lies a unique concept studio named Exact Science. This monumental center aims to promote the philosophy of cultural relevance and intellectual capital through the promotion of fresh urban art.

Exact Science, also known as XS, is motivated by a number of philosophies. For one, it is motivated by hip hop to post modern cultural movements that gave birth to the different types of urban art.

Exact Science aims to take the role of aggregator and agent. XS makes use of practices and core philosophies that were used all throughout history to come up with new styles and designs. Additionally, the label aims to promote urban art as fine art by finding the opportunities to present the masses the varying cultures of creative outputs. Through the promotion of urban art, Exact Science hopes to gain cultural relevance and intellectual capital in communities all over the world.

As the forefront of urban design, XS is fully committed in developing urban art – whether in the studio, warehouse, street, and club – and bringing these designs to more formal places such as classrooms, lecture halls, galleries, and museums. By being able to bridge the gap, XS hopes to become the link that brings together the people all around the world.

For Exact Science, design is thought of differently. While others view it as a look or statement, XS views design as a state of movement, a motion, action or progression towards a bigger goal. After all, for XS  when you plan, you design.

Although XS is all about promoting a particular definition of urban culture, it also aims to dig deeper into the client’s subconscious to be able to motivate a community to contribute to their world. Beyond creating great apparel, XS’ ultimate goal is to surpass the limit of “coolness” and to motivate people to participate in the development of contemporary urban culture.

With its philosophy of design that moves worlds, Exact Science is proud to call itself a concept studio. A community involved with cultural production with fashion, dance, music and other types of art. After all, it has provided platforms for creation, debate, cogitation, and instrumentation. Exact Science goes through the different styles, scenes, genres, media, and talents by being able to connect the elements innate to them and by being able to discern the differences between them. In this way, XS concepts – not bound by any convention – are expressed in different and unique forms.

True to its goal of promoting urban art culture, Exact Science is a staunch supporter of the underground art community. Since XS is made up of artists themselves, they understand how difficult it is for an artist to have their own gallery space.
