In 2000, fashion designer Jeffrey Campbell, with the help of his wife, Christine, and his staff, opened a namesake footwear line based in trendy Los Angeles. Now on its 9th year, the revolutionary Jeffrey Campbell footwear line has transformed into a sought-after brand by fashionistas all over the world.

Jeffrey first had his hand in fashion when he worked in Nordstrom Seattle’s stockroom. He worked in different fashion companies up to his late thirties. With the support of his wife, Jeffrey ventured into his namesake shoe business.

“My wife actually supported me and encouraged me to go out on my own. She gave me the courage to create Jeffrey Campbell, she still runs much of our in house business today. My brother also is a huge part of this business. It’s family.” Jeffrey said in his interview with Mademoiselle Robot.

Jeffrey Campbell finds inspiration in a number of things, including music, street culture, and vintage finds. To sum it up, Jeffrey sums in 20 words his main inspirations for the line in a recent interview with a Canadian magazine: “Chloe S., Mary Kate, Music, After-party, NYLON, London, Street, Short Shorts, Brooklyn, L.A., FUN!!! , Brunch, Sienna, Style vs. Fashion, My Daughters. ”

He adds, “We literally pull from everywhere and lots of vintage. Lots of cues from our favorite clothing designers for colorway or treatment etc. We love to see what hip girls are putting together on their own. We try to translate that for next season. We like to people watch in Brooklyn and Silverlake.”

Every season, this revolutionary shoe designer creates a diverse line of footwear – a result of his own version of the chic trends of today and updates of previous shoe styles. As fashion trends vary from season to season, Jeffrey Campbell strives to design innovative, fashion-forward, and fun footwear.
