Lush Life

Lush Life
Lush Life is a fashion line that started and is strongly influenced by the New York City culture. The Lush Life fashion brand was first established back in 2002, and is the creation of of Ryan Sikorski. He is the man who is also known as the founder of a famous record label called Fat Beats Records that was started on July 14, 1994 – who’s goal was to be known as the true Mecca of Hip Hop lovers everywhere. Ryan Sikorski himself has been known to be associated with such names as The Artifacts, Group Home, AG, Big L, and Ricky Powell. Ryan also appeared in “Kids,” which is a film that was written by Harmony Korine and directed by Larry Clark in 1995. The film depicted New York City teenagers and represented their attitudes to things such as sex and drugs.
The fashion brand is inspired by many of the various cultures that abide in the Downtown New York City area and it is a reflection of Ryan Sikorkski’s New York experience. These influences would include skaters, punk rockers, and hip hop music lovers alike. It seems that just about any of the various street cultures or styles can be found within the contents of Lush Life’s design.
Lush Life has been known to partner up with New York City photographer Ricky Powell in order to create t-shirt print whereby Ricky Powell takes pictures of various downtown scenery and it is used as design material. One instance is when Ricky Powell took a picture of a junkie attempting to pop an ollie on a skate board in Washington Square Park.
