Dave Gee, Methods NYC

Founded by Dave Gee in 2004, Methods NYC proves to be quite different from other clothing lines. This brand is not just about the clothes and producing gritty and eye-catching designs, but it’s about honing the artists’ skills and abilities. The brand, entitled “Methods”, came from the different ways that the artists’ uses in developing their talent in clothing design and in music. The company is also known to be global, as it doesn’t only help out artists’ from New York but artists’ all over the world who do everything to get their talents out there.

The Methods team is composed of Superblast, an artist from Germany inspired by the visual richness of traditional style writing; Koa from France, inspired by horrific monsters and ghosts and imprinted on different creative media; Dizmology, an artist of the future with breath-taking raw talent; Bodie Chewning, a Brooklyn native with a love for drawing and sculpting; Frost from Philadelphia whose work aims to top the overshadowing nature of New York City; Bisc 1 who is so talented, his skills are used in almost all creative forces; Bishop from Connecticut honing a graffiti career now developed into paintbrush and a computer; Amier Inkz of Brooklyn, who is known to explore the different creative various techniques; Jesse Smith who uses creativity to convey serious messages through lighthearted images and Serge, a.k.a DJ Vandal, known for his killer designs at Methods, DJing and for his love of records.

Methods NYC not only produces street wear for men and women but also proudly sponsors many events such as Fully Loaded, Bass Culture Monthly and the recent controversial Welcome to Bucktown event showing off their latest collection which is a collaboration with Bucktown Entertainment USA. Not only that, but because of the artists’ talents, they have also developed their products from shirts, sweatshirts, jeans and caps to toys, plush, skates, CD covers and even magazines and comics.

The international clothing line can be found in 70 stores around the United States of America as well as in numerous stores in Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Puerto Rico, Switzerland and in 5 stores around the United Kingdom. Online, the label can be bought from Karmaloop, Bombing Science, Underground Hiphop, Mixed Unit, Keeping it Classic and Bobizzo. Methods, aside from being run by Dave Gee and 10 artists is also sponsored and endorsed by 26 other companies in the entertainment and music industry.

The ten artists that make up Methods NYC all have different creative methods of producing original graphics and creative ideas for their clothing line. They might have come from different parts of the world, but they all have one thing in mind – developing their skills and showing the world their talent.
