Miss Wax jewelry is an accessory line based in San Diego and inspired by Kylee Dawn Fauss’ rebellious childhood. Being immersed in rebellious culture, has helped widen her perspective on life and its many, many quirks. Using her experience as raw material for her wax creations has helped her design bright, vivid, and definitely MOD accessories.
Ms. Fauss is very down to earth, showing humility and not forgetting the friends that helped her build her business. She started out supplying her jewelry to UNIV, a local streetwear shop, in Encinitas, California. Providing them with her hand made vinyl wonders. She also has exquisite taste when it comes to the women modeling her accessories, saying that she uses the most beautiful local ladies.
She started her business in the Fall of 2006, not really sure what to do and how to go about it herself, but the responses she got for her little works of wearable art pushed her to realize her dreams. Her line has been inspired by a mix of 50’s and 60’s future movies, Swedish design, war issues, hip hop culture and a desire to turn her artistic genius into streetwear. What came of her painted broken vinyl and other hand-made goodies were refreshingly original. From her garage to six stores in 2007, her line grew exponentially to just about sixty stores found all over the United States, Japan, the Philippines and Canada, with plans to tap into the European Market very soon.

She has collaborated with Lanie from Hellz Bellz (and also head designer for Triple five Soul) a few times to create a Miss Wax x Hellzbellz two finger ring, reminiscent of those tough looking brass knuckles. 5&A Dime also collaborated with Miss Wax Jewelry to create a San Diego inspired earring and necklace set. She was part of Project Tradeshow and the Agenda Tradeshow too. Her participation in the Keep-A-Breast movement, a non-profit organization that aims to eradicate breast cancer through awareness, inspired her 2008 spring/summer collection ‘Throwback’. Her press coverage is amazing too. Miss Wax jewelry has been featured in Status Magazine, Mass Appeal, MissBehave, High Snobiety, Riviera Magazine, Urb, Greek (the ABC tv show), Antenna, Arize, Clips and Kisses, Freestyle, Trace C’est La Vie and VH1. These are only a few of her line’s appearances.
Right now her collection consists of dangling earrings, cluster earrings, street inspired pendants, chunky and funky necklaces, rings, and her wonder of wonders, the magnetic bracelet. Check out her growing accessory line at MissWax.com or at any of the many parties and events that Miss Wax jewelry sponsors and throws.
