One People Project is an avenue for which wearers and designers alike can express their passion for diversity and love for the community.
One People Project, founded by brothers Brett and Scott Baldwin in 2006, draws inspiration from various cultural influences, and aims to emphasize the value of individuality while celebrating fundamental unity and brotherhood. The brothers and their company, based in Encinitas, California, aimed to bring something different to the plate – since the area was saturated with surf and skate brands.
“Our idea was to develop a brand that all people could feel comfortable wearing, whether or not they affiliated themselves with a particular niche,” Brett said in his 944 magazine interview.
Each piece of clothing mirrors the label’s attention to fit, design, and feel. By creating a versatile yet fashionable collection, One People Project aims to create a society of free thinkers, heading their own way and creating their own destinies.
One People Project’s collection boasts of a number of chic and graphic duds, including the Shatter Tee, The Stripes Tee, The Thistle Crew, The Grandpa Cardigan, The Nylon Ripstop Jacket, The Stefan Denim, and The Luca Denim.
As Brett puts it, “We love expressing ideas in our clothing that we feel are relevant to the society and culture around us.”

With negativity predominating the youth culture today, Brett hopes that his optimistic line can provide wearers with a different point of view. “We hope to still be able to inspire the youth and subcultures through positive imagery and ways of thinking,” he said.
The logo – that of an acorn – aims to signify one single entity capable of being more than just a humble seedling – for in the future it would grow as a mighty oak. This interpretation is what One People Project hopes to bring to the plate.
One People Project has also collaborated with Univ to come up with limited edition shirts available at the Pop-Up Store. It has also collaborated with New Era Fitteds to come up with “Town and Country” caps. Its fabulous finds have also landed on the pages of several magazines such as 944, Format, Antenna, Zeitgeist and Riviera.
One People Project merchandise can be purchased from select boutiques across the nation, its official website www.onepeopleproject.com, and through online retailers such as Karmaloop, Robust Flavor, 5 and a dime, and Bobizzo.
