The famous Paul Frank Wallet.
At Paul Frank Industries, tees are dyed in happiness and rainbow fun. Cuteness in its purest form is unleashed into the streets and no one can resist the adorable designs of Paul Frank. He is responsible for an unconventional, renowned worldwide clothing brand that sells various garments and accessories.
However, it wasn’t always this way. Paul Frank’s beginnings were humble. In late 1995, he was just a local newsstand employee. He started making wallets to promote his band. The wallets were sewed from scraps of Naugahyde and decorated with pixyish characters like Julius the big smile monkey, Skurvy and the Worry Bear. The wallets started a wave of enthusiasm in Paul’s hometown of Huntington Beach, California. So, Frank was simply forced by his friends to make more and more happy accessories.
In 1997, Paul Frank together with his friend Ryan Heuser founded Paul Frank Industries (PFI). PFI meant big business – incorporating Paul Frank clothing, Paul Frank accessories and Paul Frank watches without leaving out the initial values of fun and friendship that started the label’s success. Paul Frank brand was growing fast powered by an unheard-of, almost anti-marketing business philosophy which attracted hoards of fans of all ages. Brandweek Magazine recognized their fresh and innovative market strategy in 2001. For the prestigious business magazine, the people behind the young clothing brand were the “Marketers of the Next Generation”.

The company conquered not just the hearts of ordinary people worldwide, but many celebrities too. Paul Frank’s tees and other products appeared in numerous blockbuster movies like Superbad, Knocked Up, Austin Powers, American Pie and Charlie’s Angels. The media is always watching Paul Frank stores, because actors like Jason Schwarzman, Elijah Wood, Zooey Deschanel and Michael Rapaport are constantly visiting.
