Most sneaker freaks started their sneaker love affair with all time classic, Converse canvas shoes because they provided simplicity and high potential for customization. But some talented people have found the means to bring this to a much higher level.
Stampd or Stamp’d is a footwear brand started by Chris Stamp and is based in Los Angeles. Originally a brand that focused on pimping up classic white converse sneakers, the brand has moved up by designing shoes of their own. From their humble beginnings, they are now a much sought after label in the sneaker industry. This is because founder Chris Stamp has a natural talent for design and a lot of experience as a designer for UNIF, a degree in graphic design and a mother that used to design for Guess.
Initially, this business started out as a little customization service that he offered to friends. Eventually, word got out that his designs were pretty ill. After bringing more people on to his team, their brand grew. Eventually they were featured on E! News, which gave their label their much needed exposure and a growing list of clients. Coping with orders was pretty difficult though, given the small scale of their business and not much dough to use.

Their designs usually consist of a few well placed drawings here and there. Looking through their catalog, most of their merch is pretty impressive. Who would have thought that putting a bunch of numbers on a shoe would make it sell all too well? Their designs show classic Los Angeles influence and street culture. What is so great about their collections are their versatility. Their shoes can be worn in the day and again for a night out. Most of their designs are characterized by their bold and wild prints, but they also have a few models out there for those who are more inclined to simplistic style. All of these of course, on the ever classic Chuck inspired hi-tops. They also design shirts and caps that share the same style principles of their dope shoes.

They have done collaborations with music giant N.E.R.D., DJ Steve Aoki, and have been featured in numerous magazines like 944, Nylon Guys, Super Super, Antenna, Fader, Milk, Be Street, Warp and many others.
Stampd has also been making waves outside their homebase in the US, in countries such as France, Germany and Japan.
