Temple Effectives was created in Southern California in 1998 as a lifestyle brand that aims to support underground hip hop culture by commemorating legendary hip hop icons on its merchandise. The brand is renowned for its unique graphics, innovative screen-printing and design philosophies which are strongly reflected in all of its clothing. Essentially, every piece of clothing Temple Effectives produces tries to embody the “streets” with its great designs.

In its humble beginning, the company started out with a number of specialized DJ bags; however as the brand began to grow its product line did as well. Now, it designs and retails a variety of quality affordable apparel like windbreakers, shirts, hoodies, denims, and bags.

Temple Effectives’ merchandise is inspired by a variety of things, including the underground culture, hip hop, space and time, graffiti and fine art, DJ-ing and much more. All of these influences have contributed to the interesting and phenomenal designs that Temple Effectives is known for.

In fact, major influences from fine arts have found their way on Temple Effective clothing, such as the Patrick Martinez’s “Hype Monster Harry” painting which is included in the Spring/Summer 2009 collection. Alongside Martinez, fashion visionaries Midzt, Humanzee and DJ Distort contributed designs to the groundbreaking collection. The company has also released a limited edition Chuck Nasty windbreaker for the time being.

Also, the brand has developed a following among many celebrities like Ludacris, Lil Jon, Bow Wow, Kim Kardashian and many others. The label has also collaborated with rap artists, like the ones just mentioned, along with the likes of MC Supernat, Q-bert, and P-trix.

Outside of producing hip hop clothing and accessories, Temple Effectives also supports and supports its skate team, which consists of skateboarders Anthony Bell, Kirk Rocha, Louie Avila Isais, Yavor Vechernikov, and Yuto Kojima.

With its impact in the hip hop and skating world, it’s no wonder why Temple Effectives continue to thrive in the business in its 11 years of existence.
