The Fuck Love Tee in White
Triumvir is an independent lifestyle company that focuses mainly on apparel. It took its name from the Latin word triumvirate, which refers to the three men sharing power and authority of a political regime in Rome. Similar to its namesake, Triumvir consists of a group of individuals with different backgrounds and upbringings, and yet tied together by their origins at Orange County and their vision and desire for street wear fashion.
Creative Director and founder Brandon Cheng started Triumvir in the year 2003. After college, Cheng decided he did not want to be stuck to a cubicle job. He took a part-time job at Niketown Orange County to buy some time and take advantage of the employee discounts for the shoes.
During the time, Cheng decided to try custom-painting shoes – an art which was gaining much popularity. By that summer, he spent 12-18 hours painting shoes and selling them on eBay and Niketalk. That was when Cheng noticed a trend: sneaker collectors were having a difficult time finding tees that match their custom-painted shoes. He started to print tees with designs focusing on sneaker-related colors and themes. And then Triumvir was born.
Triumvir is heavily influenced by history and culture. It takes direct inspiration from the ideals and legacies of the Roman Empire. As a brand, Triumvir strives to demonstrate a life long dedication to the lasting impressions left by the classics, with dreams to one day join them.

Triumvir’s humble roots in customizing sneakers had become a trendy clothing brand loved by millions. Its influence and leadership position on street wear fashion had led to much collaboration. The most recent and notable of which was its tie-up with Capcom to produce Street Fighter apparel. Triumvir released fitted hats, t-shirts, jackets, and stickers for men and women.
The clothing line has received dozens of press coverage by magazines. Among them are Antenna, Bang!, Jack, Vapors, Complex, Play, and Streetwear. One of its well-known celebrity endorser—and also one of the group founders—is Taiwanese American actor-singer Van Ness Wu.
Its recent collection is the Wild Days Collection Summer 2009, which took influences from the post World War II era. To check out more about this line, head on over to their official website: www.triumvir3.com.
