Tru Youth

Artist Chris Brown sporting Tru Youth
Tru Youth is a clothing line straight from the fabulous minds of brother and sister tandem, Jon and Rosario Herrera. Not content with raising the bar for the Manila, Philippines partying scene, Embassy Superclub owner, Jon and fashionista and Style Lab creator, Teresa, decided to create a clothing line that would really show off their passion for creation, music and fashion.
Deciding to widen their creative and entrepreneurial pursuits, Jon Herrera decided to add Tru Youth under his belt. His sister, Rosario, is a fashion stylist, a consultant and a creative agency owner. These credentials are what has helped them build up a strong brand. Tru Youth started in 2006 and has been hitting the scene hard ever since. Together with Grey One Social’s Jerry Meng, the Herrera’s are the forerunners of bringing Street Wear to the shores of the Philippines’ very own Manila.
Tru Youth was first featured in Vapors magazine, and then BPM in 2006. Tru Youth was also featured in the United Trade Show in 2007. The label was featured in SlamxHype.com and is now available on Karmaloop.com. They produce shirts and shoes to match, so check out their prints on Karmaloop or on their livejournal, www.truyouth.livejournal.com. They have also released a line under the Tru Youth name, Unbreakable. Check these out on their website, www.truyouth.com.

Brandon Vera wearing Tru Youth for Maxim
Besides having a successful clothing line that is worn by DJ Keith Wilson and DJ Virman, Tru Youth boasts of artists like Chris Brown and the Black Eyed Peas as a few of their clients. Not only that, guess who else they managed to dress up? The label has proven that they can hit hard too by sponsoring the clothes of UFC fighter, Brandon “The Truth” Vera, for Maxim magazine. The way they produce their clothes, is a process worthy of praise. Each article of clothing they produce is made to reflect the ‘tru’ purpose of life, ‘tru’ lifestyle and ‘tru’ music by catering to those that aren’t afraid to be who they want to be, the ‘tru’ trendsetters. They aim to influence people from all walks of life, knowing no limits of age, gender, or class. That is Tru Youth.
