Vane Clothing

Unity is what sets Vane Clothing a part from the usual clothing companies. Vane Clothing originated from the genius minds of three very different people coming from different backgrounds, India, Pakistan and China. Eric Poon, who is a graphic designer and writer, and Atif Ateeq, who is a photographer and photo editor, came up with the urge to do something different during their years in NYU. Partnering with Ravi Thanawala, who had a good fashion and finance background, came up with the concept of replicating the growth of cultural, political and artistic chaos.

Creating a chaotic change with their first collection, Vane Clothing immediately received a good consumer fan base, realizing that Vane wasn’t just another college garage brand endeavor. Vane Clothing shows quality, comfort and bling in all of their products, something that not all streetwear clothing lines offers.

Vane Clothing offers a line for both men and women’s wear in a variety of hoodies, sweatshirts, graphic tees, sweaters, shoes and even scarves. Their top of the line collection though is the eccentric jewelry in forms of pendants, necklaces, knuckle rings, bracelets, rings and metal headphones. Famous jewelries from Vane is their Obama pendant which was released on Obama’s birthday, a camera pendant, Co-exist pendant and their headphones chain.

Not only that, Vane Clothing has had featured articles in Men Style, Style Caster, Trend de la crème, High Snobiety, Belvedereix, WSA Today, Marc Ecko’s Complex, Limite, Xhibiting, Moonwalk, Bowery Boogie, Flaunt, BPM, Photo Shelter, Format, Slam X Hype, Urb, Hype Beast, Inq MND, YRB, Streetwear Feber, Antenna, CJL, Cyana Trend Land, Brandish and Charles & Marie. Other forms of endorsement have come from Pleasure P who was a former member of Pretty Rickey, Melo X and Gossip Girl’s Jenny Humphrey (who sported Vane’s camera pendant).

The company’s awesome collection is available at A Life, Brooklyn Circus and Leffots in New York; Concepts and the Tannery in Boston; Solemates and Akira in Chicago; Complex in Vancouver, Canada; Nubian in Japan and Ambush in Singapore. Vane Clothing also has an online shop at their website, www.wearevane.com.

Artistic? Yes. Political? Yes. Culturally aware? Yes. Chaotic? Definitely. With the talents of these three men infused into one clothing line, it is no doubt that the results are nothing but explosive. For them, it’s not just about the bling and the clothes, but about the lifestyle and the creativity of being vain.
